Proud Mummy!

by naomimizon @ 20/02/2007 - 22:11:27

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last post ... I feel guilty that I post so rarely!

Anyway, just had to share a very proud Mummy post!

This is our 5th attempt at potty-training with Sam and today for the first time ever we had a totally accident free day! I'm so proud of my wee lad!

Not only that, we had another assessment with the HV this morning and she feels that Sam's come on in leaps and bound since starting nursery! He's a wee star!

Woo! Congratulations. I'm very happy and relieved for you and for Sam.

Hi again. Naomi, it is just so weird to read the sort of things you are going through. Try not to be too cross when 'older' mums say it gets worse, because maybe they are really hurting, when they feel things are going wrong with their parenting. You don't specify Sam's problems, but right at this moment I have been taking Michael (15) to the Doctor for blood tests etc, because I have been so concerned about his tiredness, forgetfulness and his struggle with concentration. From the day he started school teachers were wondering if he had an attention problem. Since being at Secondary school, (age 13 here) we get several times each week, letters or calls from school about something he has forgotten or done wrong. Well, all the blood tests have come back 'normal', and so I think I must put it down to his character mixed in now with his age. But I SO don't want him to fall below what he is capable of. Hope you soon feel happier about Sam - perhaps he will just need a little longer to cope with non-individual attention. I feel Michael, though he has no disability apparent, could really benefit from one-to-one teaching - and someone to inspire him at each stage!! Not possible - but I really do try at home to learn what he is learning (when I can find the time - it's hard!!)

No pressure or anything but I'd LOVE to see recent pictures of the boys. I've missed keeping up with your family. I'm back on here because I've set up a diary so that I can share what we're up to with Dad now that he's abroad. Love to you all. Wish I was there! Lou xxx
