Well, things seem to be moving for Sam now!
We visited the doctor this morning to ask for a referral for a hearing test. The doctor had already spoken with our HV which was great so she knew the situation. She asked Kevin & I questions, asked Sam some questions and generally just spent some time observing Sam. She felt (as do Kevin & I and the HV) that there is no issue with Sam's hearing. Therefore, rather than refer him for one specific thing which doesn't seem to be an issue, she is referring Sam to PREFCAT (the Pre-Five Community Assessment Team) - Sam will then be assessed more widely and if he has any problems then hopefully they will be highlighted and we can move forward from there.
I really don't know whether there are some issues with Sam or not ... of course I hope not, but if there are then I want them identified ... I don't want Sam to go to school with a label as a disruptive child ... if he has to have a label then it needs to be the right one!
Keep praying for us!

You are, of course, absolutely right. The sooner you know about a "problem", then the easier it is to deal with it. Doesn't make the waiting any easier though I suppose...
Fingers crossed it resolves itself!
