More mud and puddles!

by naomimizon @ 13/02/2006 - 22:41:06

Another muddy day today!

It's been an uneventful few days for us but we've had fun! Went out for a walk with the boys this afternoon. I was testing how Sam got on with the buggy board ... he seemed happy enough with it but wasn't too chuffed that Connor was in his (Sam's) buggy! Still, I'm sure he'll get used to it! Funny the things that they fix on - Connor's now in Sam's car seat which he used until Saturday ... Sam's not phased at all about it but the buggy which Sam's hardly used lately ... totally different story!

Anyway, we went out for a wee walk around where we live ... Connor slept most of the time and Sam jumped in puddles ... and sat in them! He got soaked and covered in mud but he was having fun and that's the main thing! Washing machine's on yet again!

This evening we had friends round for tea. They're visiting my parents and we'd not seen them for ages so it was lovely to have them round. Ruth's pregnant so Kevin & I enjoyed sharing horror stories about our boys ... not that there are any of course!

Tea was lovely even though I say so myself ... we had crispy chicken followed by rice pudding. Visitors during the week just get ordinary food ... there's no time for anything else. I'd highly recommend rice pudding done in the slow-cooker though ... best ever and saves loads of time ... just chuck it all in and leave it for hours, so easy!

Well, just gearing myself up to tackle all the dirty dishes and then off to bed ... wonder what tomorrow holds!

I remember my brother liking puddles when he was a kid - or you could call them muddles?? LOL!! mud and puddles - sorry my humour ;) Must be abit odd for Sam to see little Connor taking he's seat. Sounds like a nice little day ending with a few friends round for dinner :) - the rice sounds yummy! Liney x

Love the rice pudding story! I make it by cooking slowly in a normal oven but its not quite the same. Kids love it (better than anything you can get in a tin) and it reminds me of my gran.

Rice pudding's great isn't it!! My son never gets to taste it though because his dad & I always eat it all ... terrible parents!

I learned to count by jumping in puddles.

A fine introduction to Maths, if I do say so myself :D
