  • Overheard ths morning!

Setting the scene - it was 5.30ish (typical eh!) and both boys were awake. Kevin opened Connor's bedroom door so that he & Sam could play together in Sam's room. This is what followed:

    Connor - "Hello Sam"

Sam - "Hello Connor. Did you have a nice sleep?"

    Connor - "Yes, I am"

Sam - "No Connor, it's yes I did"!

    We were in fits!

The boys are at such lovely ages - they're really interacting with each other ... they've started fighting over toys which is funny but annoying - we keep hearing "It's mine" "No, it's mine" but hey ho! They get on really well on the whole!

  • I did it!

Well, I did it - I handed my notice in at work and from 1st August I will be totally self-employed! I'm nervous but excited at the same time! My employers were really good about it and it's all very amicable which is grand ... mind you, I've been replaced already so they're not that gutted!!!!!

The business is really busy at the moment ... by my standards! That means that I'm working every evening fter either being at work during the day or looking after the boys! I'm sooooo tired! This morning I was at an early meeting again - a 5.30 start! That's the last of them for a wee while though which is great! One more in August and then that'll be me! I find that it knocks me out for the day!

We're going ahead with the baking too ... our application went to Falkirk Council a couple of weeks ago and once the kitchen is approved that's us! I've already got a farmshop interested in taking some muffins and scones which is brilliant!

  • Curly hair!

Are all boys challenges?????? Or are all children a challenge?

We recently had to get doors made for the front of our TV cabinet because the boys were obsessed with the video and DVD player etc. Even buying guard things to put on the front of them made no difference ... I couldn't get the covers off but the boys could swipe them off in no time!

Anyway, now the temptation has been taken away ... or has it! This morning Connor (who's now 20 months) got stuck ... where? ... the wee monkey had climbed up onto the unit and was stuck as he tried to climb in behind the TV!

Then, a wee while later I caught him switching on the socket in the wall ... he'd also taken the child-proof cover off it and was sticking his fingers in it! What to do? I've told him off, I've put him in the naughty buggy, I've smacked his hand and still he goes back to it! Kevin's going to sort it tonight so that the plug isn't live but what about the rest of the house ... so far that's the only one he's going for but I don't want my boy to have curly hair!!!!!

  • Will I won't I?

    What to do?

It's been months since I last wrote here. I've meant to many times but just haven't! Life gets so busy eh!

So, I'm sitting here with a letter of resignation in front of me. Tonight is supposed to be deciding night about handing in my notice at work. Will I won't I? I don't know! Justamizon is really picking up and I'm getting enough work to justify leaving work ... I think! Just lately Kevin & I have seemed more like ships in the night ... he arrives home from work and I hand the boys over and rush off to visit a prospective client or a networking meeting or to discuss our new business idea with an adviser (yes, we're mad, as if one business wasn't enough!).

The letter's written, it's not signed yet and I'm not in work until Monday. What to do? We both feel that it's right for me to hand in my notice but it's scary! What if all my work dries up? I have to trust that it'll all work out ... it will!

I'm excited about the new business though ... totally different track from admin but hey, it's a hobby and something I enjoy! Baking! We've often thought about doing something in the food line but never in a million years did I think it'd be me starting it and not Kevin! The plan is that I start the business doing my baking and then at some point he'll join in working more on the catering side of things! That's the plan anyway! I've got one possible outlet for the muffins so far ... but I've not tried anywhere else yet ... one step at a time!

Oh, any for anyone who remembers me ... we're all fine. The boys are doing grand and are just lovely! Cheeky monkeys, full of fun and keeping me on my toes! Love 'em!

  • Proud Mummy!

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last post ... I feel guilty that I post so rarely!

Anyway, just had to share a very proud Mummy post!

This is our 5th attempt at potty-training with Sam and today for the first time ever we had a totally accident free day! I'm so proud of my wee lad!

Not only that, we had another assessment with the HV this morning and she feels that Sam's come on in leaps and bound since starting nursery! He's a wee star!
